High Point University is currently seeking an Human Resources Information Systems Manager. The HRIS Manager is the “owner” or subject matter expert of Workday Core HCM, security administration, business process design, compensation setup, payroll support, end user experience, reporting and analytics. This position is focused in data analysis and is accountable for the development and distribution of critical reports/dashboards to the organization. This position ensures accurate, best practice workflows and other system dependencies are in place in Workday to support administrators of compensation programs, annual performance reviews benefits administration, Open Enrollment, Payroll and reporting efforts.
Additionally, the HRIS Manager provides on-the-job and formal training to human resource data system users using custom software and University applications.
Bachelors’ Degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent experience in Human Resources (HR) and or Information Technology (IT).
5+ years of experience in HR and or IT.
Additional diploma in Computer Science is a plus.
Experience and Training
Must be highly proficient in Workday, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Ability to effectively conduct virtual and in person presentations and training.
Strong planning and project management skills.
Experience in understanding and translating the priorities of the institution and integrating the HR value proposition and strategies to meet the needs of the University.
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
Understanding of HR operations and experience in employee data management.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with HR and IT personnel.
Understanding of and experience in HR/Finance information systems.
Ability to accurately collect information in order to understand and assess customer’s needs.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize workload and provide timely follow-up and resolution.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle daily planned and unplanned operational activities.
Ability to learn and effectively use new technologies.
Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues initiated by end users.
Maintains roles and permissions for users in Workday; and troubleshoots access issues.
Performs customer service functions by responding to employee requests and questions.
Assists with resolving data errors.
Provides on-the-job and formal training to HR data system users.
Leads Workday update training and testing.
Interfaces with IT vendors like Sierra Cedar on complex problem resolutions.
Develops and maintains operating procedures, training manuals and materials in Workday.
Writes, maintains and supports reporting needs.
Stay on top of current trends in HR and IT.
Assist with various research projects and/or special projects; and, performs other duties as assigned.
Collaborate with our IT staff to perform regular tests and updates of our HRIS systems.
